*Nariadni Tribute 1973-1997
There is no better complement to *Muscat than the outstanding sire *Nariadni. A straight Russian stallion with a superb pedigree that combines the best of Russian breeding. According to Rick Taylor, “*Nariadni is exactly what he should be with a pedigree like this – immaculate.” *Nariadni has sired over 500 foals and has taken his place as a sire of international champions including Canadian National Champion NAMASKAR. Nariadni himself was a successful show horse, winning at halter and in English pleasure performance competition. *Nariadni was twice a Regional Top Five and Scottsdale Top Ten. Once again we can thank Howard Kale, Jr. for recognizing the value of the two-year old chestnut, as *Nariadni was in the first group of Tersk Arabians imported to the US, along with his dam *NARIADINAIA in 1976. *Nariadni is the sone of Tersk Stud sire Nabeg, Arax’s best son, who contributed not only excellent confirmation, he added those magnificent big, soft eyes that mirrored his great disposition. *Nariadni’s dam Nariadnaia is considered to be one of the most beautiful mares ever bred at Tersk. Nariadnaia is by Aswan and out of All Union Champion Neposeda, a Priboj daughter. The best from generations of Russian breeding is exemplified by *Nariadni and his daughters are highly prized as broodmares for their ability to produce type and quality.
Bairactar Sire Line
ARAX originates from the line of Bairactar, imported to the Weil Stud in Wurtemberg, Germany in 1817 and is one of the oldest lines in pure Arabian Breeding. Bairactar stood his entire life at the same stud and from this line comes the famous Weil-bred AMURATH in 1881. Two great sons of AMURATH-SAHIB, Arax and GWARNY represent this line closer up in the pedigree. Arax was bred in Poland in 1952, sired one foal crop there and was then exported to Tersk USSR in 1958. He was later exported to Holland in 1969 where he unexpectedly died enroute. Arax was also a good racer, wining 5 of 18 races he entered in Poland. At Tersk he left a number of excellent daughters including *MAGNOLIA, PANAMA, PRISMA, PALBA, NEMEZIDA, NATURSHITSA, KARTA, MALWA, NAGRADA, NASTAVNITSA, *PALMIRA and NEPOKORNAIA. Arax’s principle produing son for Tersk was NABEG (out of MAMMONA’s daughter, NOMENKLATURA, by NASEEM). Nabeg sired *PESNIAR out of the ASWAN daughter *PESNIA, who is out of PTASHKA by PRIBOJ. Nabeg also sired *MENES out of METROPOLIA by Priboj and out of Mammona. Unfortunately, Nabeg only lived to the age of 12, but not before siring the Russian import *Nariadni, an excellent representative of the Bairactar sire line. *Nariadni is out of the Aswan daughter *NARIADNAIA who is out of the Prioboj daughter NEPOSEDA.
*Nariadni is much more exotic than his sire, Nabeg, but has still maintained the smoothness of structure and correctness of the Arax line. This sire line is well known for its lovely daughters that cross superbly with every other line. They are typically Siglavi, smaller in stature with great length of neck and also a very level topline. Excellent legs and strength of hindquarter provide terrific action. They are also revered for their large eyes that are wide set with a large, prominent forehead to indicate their intelligence and willing disposition. Some national Champions of the Bairactar sire line include *ARAMUS, *DORNABA, *GWALIOR and also BALALAJKA the dam of *BASK.
